Joe and Dorothy Sullivan had forty-two grandchildren. The first was born in 1950, the last in 1982.
I am one of those forty-two grandchildren. In fact, I am grandchild #24, right in the middle of the pack. Because the family is so large and disperse, I don’t recall us ever all being in the same place. I would be hard-pressed to recognize some of my thirty-nine cousins.
The inspiration for this book was to write down the names of my many cousins and to tell the story of how we all arrived.
Joe and Dorothy were both born and raised in Denver, Colorado. They started their family there before moving to California in 1940. Most of us were born in California but the many offshoots have scattered to Alaska, Oklahoma and other states.
This is a collection of documents, photographs and stories of how that all happened.
